Top seed Novak Djokovic will face in-form Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the final of the 2023 Paris Masters. The match will be played on Sunday, November 5, 2023.

Djokovic vs Dimitrov Preview

Novak Djokovic sailed into his ninth final at the Paris Masters, the most of any player. But this is the toughest road he’s taken to the final Sunday in Paris compared to the last eight. He has won this tournament a record six times, in addition to winning the most matches at the event. His numbers on indoor hard courts are insanely good and more so in Paris Bercy. So Grigor Dimitrov has a colossal task to defy the odds. Djokovic, however, has been on the ropes in each of his last three matches, notably against Tallon Griekspoor who had break points to go on and serve for the match and struggled a fair bit against Andrey Rublev in the semis, fighting from a set down to win in three.

Grigor Dimitrov, meanwhile, has hit a purple patch in the second half of the season. The Bulgarian one-hander has played some sensational tennis using his full dexterity and power to overcome some exceptional players to reach his second final of the season. Four of his five matches this week have gone the full distance and defeated both Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas in a third-set tiebreak, and you ought to question whether he’ll have enough in the tank to take on the indefatigable Djokovic.

Djokovic vs Dimitrov Prediction

While accumulated fatigue is going to cause distress in Dimitrov, the same can be said for Djokovic who has played a trio of three-set matches to reach the final. Djokovic showed signs of wear and tear in his semifinal against Rublev, appearing to stretch his back before serving. The Serbian fought a stomach upset coming to the tournament which contributed to his lack of cutting edge in some of his matches. But he’s Djokovic, a GOAT for a reason. He’ll always find a way through adversity. Putting sentimentality aside, Dimitrov has shot here despite the lopsided head-to-head record and we’re happy to back him to win at least a set at -111.
