Paris Masters: Ugo Humbert vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas 11/03/20 Tennis Prediction

2020-11-03 11:00:00 EDT

It is the battle of the two young guns as Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Ugo Humbert in the second round of the 2020 Paris Masters on Tuesday, November 3rd 2020. Will Humbert be able to achieve yet another top 10 victory in his career or will Tsitsipas cruise through to the third round?

Ugo Humbert was very solid in his first round match to bounce back from being a set down against Casper Ruud and ensuring there was no chance he would lose once he won the second set. Humbert was superb in his serve and in his forehand and was able to move Ruud around the court enough to force him to hit errors. Humbert has been on fire recently, winning his second title of the year two weeks ago in Antwerp. Humbert is only going to continue to improve and I am sure this is not his breakthrough season yet.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has been loving the indoor hard court, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2020 Antwerp Open, losing in 3 tight sets to Grigor Dimitrov. Tsitsipas has been training very hard here in Paris and I am sure he wants to play some solid tennis prior to him going to the Nitto ATP Finals in 2 weeks in the hopes of defending his championship there. Tsitsipas will be looking at this side of the draw and he knows that if he plays his absolute best tennis, he could potentially reach the semifinals or the final. But before he does that, he needs to beat Humbert.

This is going to be the first meeting between both players and it is going to be a tight one. Ugo Humbert has been superb as of recently and a few weeks ago he beat the world No.5, Daniil Medvedev, will he now be able to beat the world No.6 in Tsitsipas? I don’t believe he will as Tsitsipas has a more overall game and he has more experience in bigger tournaments. Tsitsipas wants to play solid prior to London and he will want to perhaps give it a shot at the title here in Paris.
