Fifth seeded Russian Aslan Karatsev will face the unseeded Cameron Norrie in the Round of 16 at the 2021 Queens Open. The match is scheduled to be played on Wednesday June 16th, 2021 at 8:20am EST.

An interesting match is on our hands here at the 2021 Queens Open. Fifth seed Aslan Karatsev has been having a breakthrough season so far in 2021, shocking the tennis world. His opponent here Cameron Norrie is also having an outstanding season, can he cause the upset here and move on to the Quarter-Finals here at Queens?

Aslan Karatsev is currently ranked #24 in the ATP world rankings and has burst onto the scene in remarkable fashion this season. A relative unknown, he has jumped over 100 spots in the rankings over the past year and has had some outstanding performances such as his run to the Semi-Finals at the Australian Open and claiming his first ATP title in Dubai. The Russian does not have much experience on grass and struggled here in his opening round win over Alejandro Tabilo here at the 2021 Queens Open, dropping the first set before playing some smart tennis to eventually win in three sets. While he should be considered the slight favorite here, he is set to have a very tough match against Cameron Norrie who is having a strong season himself and has a lot of grass court experience.

Cameron Norrie has been having a career-best season so far in 2021, and is currently ranked #41 in the world. Like his opponent Aslan Karatsev, the Brit started slowly here at the 2021 Queens Open, losing the first set before eventually winning against Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas. Norrie served extremely well in that win, and will have to do the same if he is to reach the Quarter-Finals here for the first time. His opponent is inexperienced on this surface, but has proven to be a top player this season and we are in for a battle here.

This is a tough match to predict due to Aslan Karatsev’s lack of experience on this surface. He has proven himself to be a better player than his opponent but grass is a very tricky surface and experience will be key. Cameron Norrie has that experience and has also been having a very strong season, so I expect this to be a tough and very exciting match. All things considered, I am still going with Aslan Karatsev to get the win. He is too talented to not eventually figure it out, and should come through this match with the win, advancing to his first ever Quarter-Final here at Queens.
