This is set to be a blockbuster and is the pick of the Third Round matches here at the 2021 US Open. Felix Auger-Aliassime and Roberto Bautista Agut are two of the best players on the ATP Tour and this is a match that tennis fans will not want to miss. Will it be the dynamic young Canadian FAA getting the win and moving on to the Round of 16? Or will the solid veteran RBA use every ounce of his experience to frustrate his opponent?

Felix Auger-Aliassime is the twelfth seed here at the 2021 US Open and is ranked #15 on the ATP Tour. The Canadian has long been considered one of the most promising young players on the ATP Tour and has been a consistent performer for the past few years. He has been very successful so far in his young career, reaching eight ATP Finals, but we have to wonder when he will finally break through and win one. His opponent Roberto Bautista Agut is not a good matchup for him as he is extremely quick and will use a counterpunching strategy to try to force a lot of unforced errors out FAA.

Roberto Bautista Agut is the #18 seed here at the 2021 US Open, and is ranked #21. He is one of the most consistent performers on the ATP Tour but has been going through a rough patch recently and will be hoping for a strong showing this week to make up for lost time. He has found form at the right moment, cruising past both Nick Kyrgios and Emi Ruusuvuori to set up this blockbuster clash with Felix Auger-Aliassime. While he is ranked lower than his opponent he should probably be considered the favorite due to his form at the open, but one thing is for sure, this will be a close match regardless of the outcome.

The two players have met twice before, winning one match each. Both times that they played were extremely close and I am expecting yet another tight match, and would not be surprised if this goes the distance. Felix Auger-Aliassime has had the better season in 2021 but Roberto Bautista is normally the more reliable player so this is a difficult decision. All things considered, I am going with the Canadian here. He has been outstanding at times this season and his upside is sky-high.
