Wimbledon: Alexander Zverev vs. Tallon Griekspoor 6/29/21 Tennis Prediction
Alexander Zverev vs Tallon Griekspoor
June 29, 2021 8:00 am EDT
Alexander Zverev (4) meets Tallon Griekspoor (Q) in the first round of the 2021 Championships on Tuesday, June 29th 2021.
Will it be yet another early round Wimbledon loss for the big swinging German, Zverev, who has never really had a good run in London, or will he be able to beat the qualifier Tallon Griekspoor in easy fashion to give himself some momentum on grass?
Tallon Griekspoor is not known at all, mainly focusing on the challenger tour where he can compete. Griekspoor has been handed a really hard start to his campaign here, meeting one of the most in form players of the last few months in Alexander, so he knows he needs to be even better than his maximum level if he wants to get anything going against the German. Can we expect him to be able to get anything going or will he be packing his bags onto the next challenger tournament where he might get a win or two under his belt?
Alexander Zverev will want to finally make it far into Wimbledon as he has never really found his groove here. Zverev will know that he has an easy opponent in the first round, but he also needs to be wary of the fact that he has lost to easy opponents in the early rounds of slams many times before. Alexander has been in strong form over the last 2 months so I am sure he will be wanting to bring that form over to the grass season, but he needs to expect some potential improvements to be made initially.
This is going to be the 1st meeting between both players, and Alexander Zverev will get his match going in his favour right from the start I believe. Alexander Zverev knows that he has reached a level where there is no more excuses for not making it late into week one of into week two of grand slam consistently. I believe that both of them will want to give it their best, but Tallon just does not have the level required to get anything going here. Alexander will make his way to the second round.
