Minnesota Lynx vs. Phoenix Mercury

The Phoenix Mercury and Minnesota Lynx face off on Saturday in a WNBA basketball showdown at the Talking Stick Resort Arena. These two teams just faced off on Wednesday and it was the Minnesota Lynx that were able to come away with the 82-76 victory.
The Minnesota Lynx have had some issues this season at times but they currently sit with an 8-7 record overall which puts them 3rd place in the Western Conference. The Minnesota Lynx had issues earlier in the season, but they are playing better having won three games in a row. Each of the last three games, the Lynx have won three games in a row. Coming into this game the Lynx are averaging 82.4 points per game while their defense is giving up 83 points per game. Napheesa Collier has been the best player for the Minnesota Lynx averaging 17.8 points per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. Sylvia Fowles is having a big game averaging 17.2 points per game while shooting 63.1 percent from the field. Fowles is averaging 10 rebounds per game, and that will be a big part of his game.
On the other side of this matchup is the Phoenix Mercury who sit with a 7-8 record overall and that puts them in 5th place in the standings. Coming into this game Phoenix have won two of their last three games but the loss was in their last game against the Lynx. Two games ago the offense scored 88 points, and they need to get back to that offensive production in this game. On the season, Phoenix is averaging 79.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 80.1 points per game. Phoenix is shooting 43.2 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from behind the three point line. Brittney Griner has been the best player for the Mercury averaging 20.3 points while shooting 59.5 percent from the field. Skylar Diggins-Smith is averaging 18.7 points and Diana Taurasi is averaging 16.7 points per game.
