France and the United States face off early on Tuesday morning in an Olympic women’s basketball showdown. The United States has won each of their first two games while France has gone 1-1.

France opened up their Olympic games with a dominating win over Nigeria before they were defeated in their last game against Japan. France was competitive in that game, but couldn’t pull off the stops late to get the job done. Sandrine Gruda has been the best player for France and in the last game, he finished with 18 points and nine rebounds. The defense was much stronger in the first game of the Olympics, and if they want to win this game it’s going to have to be the defense that steps up to the plate and gets the job done. If the defense is bad, this game is going to get ugly early.

On the other side of this matchup is the United States who is the favorite for gold and has won the first two games. The United States opened up the Olympics with a win over Japan, and in the last game against Nigeria, they were also good. Each of the games they have gotten out to slow starts but pulled away as the games have gone on. The United States has a stacked roster, but A’ja Wilson has been the best player in each of the first two games. In the last game, Wilson finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds. The United States really needs to try and key on getting out to a fast start in this game, and not letting France stick around. This should be a good tune-up for them heading into the knockout stage.

This is a bigger number to lay with the United States, but I think they get it done. Look for the United States to run up the score, France is going to have no answer, and the United States will cover this spread.
