The New York Liberty and Seattle Storm face off on Wednesday in a WNBA basketball showdown at the Barclays Center.

The New York Liberty come into this game with a 10-12 record overall and they have lost three games in a row. In the last game against the Minnesota Lynx, the Liberty gave up 88 points and that led to the defeat. The defense for the Liberty has been a big issue, and it needs to be better going forward. The New York Liberty are averaging 79.2 points per game while their defense is giving up 85.1 points per game. Betnijah Laney has been the best player for the Liberty averaging 18.6 points while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 31.2 percent from behind the three-point line. In this game, if the Liberty want to win the defense is going to need to be a lot better.

The Seattle Storm come into this game with a 16-6 record overall and that ties them for the best record in the WNBA. The Storm has found a lot of success this season, but they are coming off a loss in their last game against the Chicago Sky they forced overtime but lost by two points. Two games ago against the Connecticut Sun, the defense was strong giving up only 57 points, and the defense is going to need to lock down in this game. The Storm are averaging 86.4 points per game while their defense is giving up 80.0 points per game. Breanna Stewart has been the best player for Seattle averaging 20.6 points while shooting 45 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Storm are the better team and the Liberty are going to struggle to score in this game. Look for the Storm to run up the score, and they are going to have no issues. Back the Storm to come away with a cover of the spread.
