The Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky face off on Tuesday in a WNBA basketball showdown.at Talking Stick Resort Arena. These two teams last faced off in June and it took overtime but the Mercury came away with the three-point victory.

The Chicago Sky come into this game with a 14-12 record overall which puts them in second place in the Eastern Conference. The Sky have won three games in a row including the last game against the Seattle Storm where they scored 107 points. Chicago on the season is averaging 83.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 79.8 points per game. Kahleah Copper has been the best player for Chicago averaging 14.6 points while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Five different players are averaging at least 10 points per game, and in this game, it’s going to be about a balanced attack.

On the other side of this matchup is the Phoenix Mercury who sit with a 15-10 record overall which puts them in 4th place inside the Western Conference. The Mercury have won six straight games including the last game against the New York Liberty where they gave up only 64 points. The Mercury on the season are averaging 81.6 points per game while their defense is giving up 79.4 points per game. Brittney Griner is dealing with an injury, and she missed the last game because of it. It’s unclear if she is going to be able to go in this game though, and if she can’t that is a big loss.

The Sky’s offense was quite impressive in the last game, and I expect their offense will run up the score in this game. I also expect Phoenix to find offensive success and there will be plenty of points scored. Back the over.
