Connecticut Sun vs. Atlanta Dream
July 15, 2022 7:30 pm EDT

The Atlanta Dream and Connecticut Sun face off on Friday in a WNBA showdown at The Gateway Center @ College Park. When these two teams faced off on June 26th it was Atlanta Dream that secured the 72-61 victory.

The Dream come into this game with a 10-13 record overall, and in the last game against the Chicago Sky they struggled. The defense really struggled, giving up 90 points and that led to the 15 point defeat. Atlanta is averaging 77.6 points, while their defense is giving up 79.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 12th in the league, while their defense is ranked 4th. The Dream want to lean on the defense, but when the defense, they really struggle to score. Rhyne Howard has been the top player for the Dream, averaging 14.7 points while shooting 37.4 percent from the field and 33.8 percent from behind the three point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Connecticut Sun who sit with a 15-8 record overall and in the last game against the Indiana Fever they were able to win 89-81. They were outscored 35-24 in the 4th quarter, but they had such a big lead they were still able to secure the victory. The Sun are averaging 84.1 points, while their defense is giving up 77.9 points per game. Jonquel Jones has been the top player for the Sun, averaging 14.9 points while shooting 50 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from behind the three point line. There are five different players that are averaging at least 11 points per game.

The Dream offense has been inconsistent this season, and they are going to struggle against the Connecticut defense in this game. The Dream’s defense is ranked 4th in the league, and I expect points going to be hard to come by for both teams. Look for a low-scoring game and the under is going to cash.
