Los Angeles Sparks at Atlanta Dream

The Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks face off on Thursday in a WNBA basketball showdown at the Gateway Center Arena. These two teams last faced off on August 19th and the Sparks won 66-64.
The Los Angeles Sparks come into this game sitting with an 11-19 record overall which puts them in last place in the Western Conference. The Sparks have lost five of their last six games and the offense has been a big issue when they have struggled. In the last game though, the Sparks offense got back on the right track scoring 81 points. The Sparks on the season are averaging 72.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 77.1 points per game. Nneka Ogwumike has been the best player for the Sparks averaging 14.3 points while shooting 53.3 percent from the field.
On the other side of this matchup is the Atlanta Dream who sit with an 8-22 record overall which puts them in 5th place in the Eastern Conference. Even though the Atlanta Dream have struggled they are coming off a big win in their last game over the Indiana Fever. The Dream’s offense scored 85 points. The Dream on the season are averaging 79.5 points per game while their defense is giving up 84.7 points per game. Courtney Williams has been the best player for Atlanta averaging 16.6 points while shooting 41.7 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from behind the three-point line.
The Dream have struggled, but they do find success against terrible teams, and the Sparks are a terrible team. Atlanta’s offense was strong in the last game, and they will run up the score again in this game. The Sparks offense will continue to struggle, and Atlanta will come away with a cover of the spread.
