Minnesota Lynx vs. Chicago Sky
June 26, 2022 6:00 pm EDT

The Chicago Sky and Minnesota Lynx face off on Sunday in a WNBA showdown at Wintrust Arena. When these two teams faced off on May 14th it was the Sky that were able to secure the 82-78.

The Sky come into this game with a 12-5 record overall and in the last game against the Los Angeles Sparks the defense was elite, only giving up 59 points and that was enough to lead to the easy victory. The Sky are averaging 85.2 points, while their defense is giving up 79.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 3rd overall, but their defense is ranked 5th. Kahleah Copper has been the top player for the Sky, averaging 14 points while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Minnesota Lynx, who sit with a 5-13 record overall. After a slow start to the season, the Lynx have at least been a little more competitive as of late. In the last game, the Lynx put up 100 points against Phoenix and that led to the easy victory. The Lynx are averaging 79.9 points, while their defense is giving up 84.3 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league, while their pitching staff is ranked 9th. Sylvia Fowles has been the top player for Minnesota, averaging 16.3 points, and she is back from injury and that is a big boost for this team.

The Lynx have been playing better coming into this game, but their defense is still a problem. The Sky are averaging 85.2 points per game, and they are going to have no issue running up the score here against the Lynx defense. The Sky have a better defense than the Mercury, and the Lynx aren’t going to have such an easy job scoring here. Back the Sky against the spread.
