China and Belgium face off in a women’s Olympic basketball showdown on Monday morning. Each of these teams has won their first two games, and this one will decide who wins the group.

In China’s first game in the Olympics, it was quite the battle against Australia, but China was able to win 76-74. In the second game, China faced off with Puerto Rico and that was a much more comfortable victory as they won 97-55. At the end of the first quarter, China was up 32-17 and never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Li Yueru was the best player in that last game putting up 21 points and 12 rebounds. Yueru also hit two free throws late in the game against Australia to give them the win. China shot 55.6 percent from the field in the last game, and although they can’t expect that again, they are going to need to shoot a high percentage to get the job done in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is Belgium who opened up its Olympics with a dominating win over Puerto Rico 87-52. In the second game it was much of the same against Australia as they won 85-70, Belgium is a team that wants to push the tempo, and they have really been impressive with their play so far. The star for Belgium is Emma Meesseman and in the last game, she finished with 32 points and nine rebounds. This team really looks like they will go as far as Meesseman takes them. One problem for Belgium in the last game was they only shot 5-21 from deep, and in this game, they are going to need to make more of those three-pointers.

Belgium is the better team, and they really should be favored by more in this game. Look for Belgium to have another big game from Meeseman and this game will get out of hand early. Back Belgium against the spread.
