The Dallas Wings and Washington Mystics face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at College Park Center.

When these two teams faced off on May 13th it was the Wings that won 94-86. It was the third quarter that was the difference as the Wings outscored the Mystics 25-11.

The Mystics come into this game with a 3-1 record overall, and the only loss came against the Wings in the last game. The offense was still good, scoring 86 points, but the defense really let them down. Washington is averaging 84.3 points, while their defense is giving up 76.5 points per game. The offensive rating is 108.4 which is 3rd best in the league. The defensive rating is 98.4 which is 6th best in the WNBA. The Mystics’ pace is 77.7 which is 9th in the WNBA. I expect they will try to pull down the pace here. Elena Delle Done has been the top player for the Mystics, averaging 20 points while shooting 50 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Wings, who sit with a 2-1 record overall, and they have won two games in a row. In the Wings, last game against the New York Liberty the offense again was strong scoring 81 points, and that led to the 10-point victory. The Wings are averaging 78 points, while their defensive rating is 74.3 points. The defensive rating is 95.1 which is 2nd best in the WNBA. Arike Ogunbowale has been the top player for the Wings, averaging 18.3 points, but she is only shooting 34.6 percent from the field. Allisha Gray is also having a big season, averaging 14.7 points while shooting 41.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

The first game between the two players this season was high scoring with 180 points scored, and I don’t see a lot of defense being played in this game. Look for both offenses to run up the score, and neither team is going to play any defense, and that is going to lead to this game being a shootout. Back the over.
