Chicago Sky vs. Indiana Fever
July 7, 2022 7:00 pm EDT

The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever face off on Thursday in a WNBA showdown at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. When these two teams faced off on June 19th it was the Fever that secured the 89-87 victory.

The Chicago Sky headed into Wednesday’s game against the Minnesota Lynx with a 15-5 record overall, and they have won five games in a row. In the last game against the Phoenix Mercury, the offense was strong, scoring 91 points, and that led to the 16-point victory. Chicago is averaging 86 points, while their defense is giving up 79.9 points per game. The offense is ranked second in the league, while their defense is ranked 5th. It’s mostly a balanced attack for this team, with five different players averaging at least 10 points per game.

On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Fever, who sit with a 5-18 record overall, and they have lost five games in a row. In the last game against the Seattle Storm, the defense really struggled, giving up 95 points and that led to the 22-point defeat. The Fever are averaging 77.9 points, while their defense is giving up 88.4 points per game. The offense is ranked 11th in the WNBA, while their defense is ranked 12th in the league. Kelsey Mitchell has been the top offensive player for the Fever, averaging 18.6 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 41.4 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Fever have been the worst team in the WNBA, but they already have a win over the Sky so far this season. In this game, though, the Fever are going to struggle to score against Chicago and their defense is going to have issues too. The Sky scored 91 points in the last game, and they are going to score at least that against Indiana in this game. Back the Sky to cover the spread.
