Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm 7/5/22 WNBA Picks, Predictions, Odds

Seattle Storm vs Indiana Fever
July 5, 2022 7:00 pm EDT

The Indiana Fever and Seattle Storm face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. When these two teams faced off on July 1st it was the Storm that secured the 73-57.

The Fever comes into this game with a 5-17 record, and they have won four games in a row. Two games ago against the Phoenix Mercury, the defense really struggled, giving up 99 points and that led to the defeat. The Fever are averaging 78.1 points, while their defense is giving up 88.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 11th in the league, while their pitching is ranked 12th in the league. Kelsey Mitchell has been the top offensive player for the Fever, averaging 18.5 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 41 percent from deep.

On the other side of this matchup is the Storm, who sit with a 13-8 record overall, but they are coming off a loss in their last game against the Atlanta Dream. The defense really struggled, giving up 90 points, and that led to the 14-point defeat. The Storm are averaging 78.8 points, while their defense is giving up 76.7 points per game. The offense is ranked 9th in the league, while the defense is ranked second in the league. The defense has been the strength, so when they have struggled this season, it’s usually been the defense that has been the issue. Breanna Stewart has been the best player, averaging 21.3 points while shooting 44.6 percent from the field.

When these two teams faced off on July 1st, the Fever only scored 57 points, and I expect they are going to struggle to score again in this game. The Storm has one of the best defenses in the WNBA, and this Fever team doesn’t have a ton of star power. Look for the Fever to really struggle here, and Seattle will cover the spread.
