The Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. When these two teams faced off on May 6th it was the Mystics that won 84-70.

The Fever come into this game with a 3-7 record overall and in their last game, it looked like they were going to beat the Los Angeles Sparks before they blew the game late. The Fever were outscored 25-19 in the 4th quarter and that led to the 101-96 defeat. The Fever have scored at least 90 points in each of the last two games, but it’s been the defense that has really let them down. The Fever are averaging 82.5 points, while their defense is giving up 89.6 points per game. The best player this season for the Fever is Kelsey Mitchell, and she is averaging 19 points while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Washington Mystics, who sit with a 6-3 record overall, but they are coming off a loss in their last game. The offense only managed 71 points against Connecticut, and that led to the eight-point defeat. The Mystics are averaging 79.2 points, while their defense is giving up 73.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 9th, but the defense is ranked 1st in the league, and it’s going to be important that the defense is going to need to be good. Elena Delle Donne has been the top player for Washington, averaging 17.7 points while shooting 48.7 percent from the field. The defense is going to need to be good in this game, but more importantly they are going to need the offense to put some pressure on the Fever’s defense.

The Mystics’ offense hasn’t been all that strong this season, but they get to face off against an Indiana team that is giving up 89.6 points per game. In this game, Washington is going to run up the score, and this game is going to get out of hand early. This game is going to get out of hand early because of the Mystics defense, and that will be the difference as Washington wins this game in blowout fashion.
