Dallas Wings vs. Las Vegas Aces
June 5, 2022 6:00 pm EDT

The Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings face off on Sunday in a WNBA showdown at the Michelob ULTRA Arena. When these two teams faced off in September 2021 it was the Aces that secured the 85-75 victory.

The Aces come into this game with a 9-2 record overall, but they are coming off a disappointing loss against the Connecticut Sun. The defense gave up 97 points to the Sun and were defeated by seven points. The Aces had won seven games in a row before losing that game, and the hope is they will bounce back here. Becky Hammon has made it clear she wants her team to push the pace. The Aces are averaging 91.6 points, while their defense is giving up 81.4 points per game. The Aces offense is ranked 1st, while their defense is ranked 7th. Jackie Young is averaging 19.2 points while shooting 54 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Dallas Wings, who sit with a 6-4 record, and they are coming off their most impressive win of the season. The defense gave up only 51 points to the Seattle Storm, and that led to the 17-point victory. Dallas is averaging 80.2 points, while their defense is giving up 78.9 points per game. The Wings are ranked 6th in the league, while their defense is ranked 6th. Arike Ogunbowale has been the top player, averaging 18.2 points while shooting 37.9 percent from the field.

The Wings looked good in the last game, but they just don’t have the defense to keep this game close. The Aces are averaging 91.6 points, and they are going to have no issue running up the score in this game. Look for the Wings to only finish around 71 or 72 points, and the Aces will cruise to the victory. Back Las Vegas against the spread.
