The Phoenix Mercury and Las Vegas Aces meet Tuesday in WNBA action at the Michelob ULTRA Arena. Here’s a Las Vegas Aces vs Phoenix Mercury Prediction.

Phoenix Mercury Betting Preview

The Phoenix Mercury missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2012 and enter this season with Nate Tibbetts as head coach. The Mercury are no longer the title contenders they once were, but there’s dark horse potential here. Brittney Griner is on the roster from the start, even if she’s dealing with a toe injury at the moment. Diana Taurasi is still productive, entering her 20th season. The additions of Natasha Cloud and Kahleah Copper give the Mercury some serious firepower and bring excitement to the court. There are depth and experience issues with the Mercury, but the top-heavy roster could make some noise if things break right and players stay healthy. The Mercury are a team to watch.

Las Vegas Aces Betting Preview

The Las Vegas Aces are coming off back to back championships and enter year number three under coach Becky Hammon. The Aces enter this season as the team to beat for a potential three peat. Outside of Candace Parker retiring a few weeks ago, the Aces are the same team they were last season. A’Ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young and Chelsea Gray lead the way for Las Vegas and produce the most stacked team in the WNBA. Kiah Stokes will take on a bigger role now that Parker has retired. There’s not much to say about the Aces that hasn’t been said already. On paper, the Aces should win a third straight title.

Las Vegas Aces vs Phoenix Mercury Injury Report

Brittney Griner is out for the Mercury due to a toe injury. Morgan Bertsch is probable for the Mercury after gaining international clearance. Chelsea Gray appears to still be out for the Aces with a foot injury.

Las Vegas Aces vs Phoenix Mercury Prediction

I’m not a fan of laying massive numbers, especially this early in the season, but the Las Vegas Aces have shown us time and time again what they’re capable of. When the Aces want to, they can blow any team off the court, including their biggest challenger in the NY Liberty. The Phoenix Mercury have elite scoring potential, but they lack depth, and they’re already starting the season without one of their best players in Griner. Not my most favorite game on the Tuesday WNBA card, but it’s Aces or pass for me.
