The Atlanta Dream and Los Angeles Sparks meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the Walter Pyramid. Here’s a Los Angeles Sparks vs Atlanta Dream Prediction.

Atlanta Dream Betting Preview

The Atlanta Dream are coming off their first playoff appearance since 2018, and they enter the third year under coach Tanisha Wright. The Dream had three all stars last season in Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, and they all return. That alone makes the Dream a contender for another playoff berth. The Dream added 2012 MVP Tina Charles, who didn’t play last season. The Dream also added veteran and champion Aerial Powers. Both Powers and Charles bring experience to still a fairly young roster and a boost of scoring to a unit that had issues at times from the field. There could be enough here for the Dream to make two straight playoff trips for the first time in a decade.

Los Angeles Sparks Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Sparks haven’t made the playoffs in three straight seasons and enter year 2 under coach Curt Miller. The Sparks have underachieved these last few seasons, and now they don’t have Nneka Ogwumike or Jordin Canada. The Sparks now kind of belong to Dearica Hamby, the 30-year-old veteran who contributes at an above average level at both ends of the floor. The Sparks drafted Cameron Brink and Rickea Jackson, and they should be contributors right away. The Sparks added Aari McDonald and Kia Nurse, which does provide a scoring punch. Still, it could be another struggle year in LA which results in another season falling short of the postseason.

Los Angeles Sparks vs Atlanta Dream Injury Report

Azura Stevens is going to miss the Sparks season opener. Jordin Canada and Lorela Cubaj are day to day for the Dream.

Los Angeles Sparks vs Atlanta Dream Prediction

The Atlanta Dream should be favored as they’re a playoff team that returns their core. The Los Angeles Sparks are a rebuilding team that wasn’t good last year to begin with and lose key players. However, let’s not act like the Dream are world beaters, as they had major issues offensively, and it’s going to take time to work in veterans just added. The Los Angeles Sparks play hard at home and they usually have a decent crowd. The Sparks won’t win much, but they get after it and can hang within numbers. I’ll grab the points with the Sparks.
