The Minnesota Lynx and Washington Mystics face off on Sunday in a WNBA showdown at the Target Center. These two teams faced off in a preseason game, and it was the Mystics that won 78-66.

The Lynx might be one of the biggest question marks heading into the season. This is a talented team, but they are missing some key pieces. Kayla McBride is still playing overseas, and Napheesa Collier had a baby and won’t be back until later in the season or next year. Angel McCoughtry is dealing with a knee injury and is questionable for this game. In the first game of the season against Seattle the offense scored 74 points, but the defense really struggled giving up 97 points, and that led to the defeat. Sylvia Fowles was the top player, scoring 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

On the other side of this matchup is the Washington Mystics, who opened up their season against the Indiana Fever, and they had a pretty dominant victory. At the end of the first quarter, the Mystics were up 31-16, and they never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Elena Delle Done is healthy and that is great news for the Mystics, who need her to be healthy to have a strong season. In the first game against Indiana, Delle Done had 21 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. There were four different players that finished with 10 points. In this game, Washington is going to need the offense to be good again.

The Lynx might be a very talented team, especially when Collier is back, but this is a team that has too many question marks right now. Outside of Fowles in the first game, the Lynx didn’t have a ton of offensive success, and that is going to be a problem again in this game. I expect the Mystics to score at least 84 points like they did in the last game, and that is going to be the difference in this game. Back Washington to cover the spread.
