Dallas Wings vs. Seattle Storm
June 3, 2022 10:00 pm EDT

The Seattle Storm and Dallas Wings face off on Friday in a WNBA showdown at Climate Pledge Arena. When these two teams faced off in June 2021 it was the Wings that secured the 68-67 victory.

Seattle comes into this game with a 5-3 record overall, and they are coming off quite the impressive victory. The Storm’s offense was elite, scoring 92 points against the New York Liberty, and they won by 31 points. Seattle is averaging 80 points, while their defense is giving up 76 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league, while their defense is ranked 4th in the league. The Storm likes to play at a slower pace, and they are currently ranked 8th in the WNBA in terms of pace. Breanna Stewart has been the top player for the Storm, averaging 20.7 points while shooting 45.3 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Dallas Wings who sit with a 5-4 record overall and in the last game against the Los Angeles Sparks, they were defeated by two points. They outscored the Sparks 26-20 in the 4th quarter, but it wasn’t enough to win. Two games ago, against the Connecticut Sun, the Wings lost 99-68. The Wings are averaging 81.6 points, while their defense is giving up 82 points per game. The offense is ranked 4th, while their pitching staff is ranked 7th. Arike Ogunbowale has been the top player for the Wings, averaging 18.4 points while shooting 37.2 percent from the field.

Seattle has dealt with COVID issues, and that has hurt their record, but they are still the much better team in this game. The Wings defense has been an issue, giving up 82 points per game, and that is going to be the difference as Seattle runs up the score. Seattle is going to put up 82 points and the Storm are going to get the job done. Back the Storm against the spread.
