Indiana Fever vs. Seattle Storm
July 1, 2022 10:00 pm EDT

The Seattle Storm and Indiana Fever face off on Friday in a WNBA showdown at the Climate Pledge Arena. When these two teams faced off in June 2021 it was the Storm that secured the 79-69 victory.

The Storm comes into this game with a 12-7 record overall, but their biggest issue all season has been the inconsistency. Two games ago, the Storm lost to the Los Angeles Sparks 85-77, but in the last game, they beat the Las Vegas Aces 88-78. The Storm outscored the Aces 24-16 in the 4th quarter and that led to the defeat. The Storm are averaging 79.2 points, while their defense is giving up 77 points per game. The Storm’s offense is ranked 9th in the league, while their defense is ranked second in the WNBA. Breanna Stewart has been the top player for the Storm, averaging 21.5 points while shooting 45.1 percent from the field

On the other side of this matchup is the Indiana Fever, who sit with a 5-16 record overall, and they are coming off another blowout loss. The defense gave up 99 points to the Phoenix Mercury and that led to the defeat. The Fever are averaging 79.1 points, while their defense is giving up 88.9 points per game. The Fever’s offense is ranked 10th in the league, while their defense is ranked 12th. Kelsey Mitchell has been the top offensive player for the Fever this season, averaging 19.2 points while shooting 41.2 percent from the field.

This Fever’s team has a defense that is an issue, and it’s going to hurt them in this game. The Storm’s offense was strong in the last game, putting up 88 points in the last game, and that is going to be the difference here as Seattle cruises to the easy victory. Back the Storm to cover the spread.
