Los Angeles Sparks vs. Seattle Storm
June 25, 2022 9:00 pm EDT

The Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks face off on Saturday in a WNBA showdown at Climate Pledge Arena. When these two teams faced off on May 20th it was the Storm that secured the 83-80 victory.

The Storm come into this game with an 11-6 record overall, and they have won two games in a row. In the last game against the Washington Mystics, the Storm played a complete game, and they won 85-71. The Storm’s biggest issue at times has been the inconsistency with the offense. The Storm are averaging 78.8 points, while their defense is giving up 76.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 9th in the league, while their defense is ranked second overall. The Storm this year has slowed down the pace, something that is a big change from last season.

On the other side of this matchup is the Sparks, who sit with a 6-10 record overall, and they are coming off another terrible loss in their last game. The Sparks offense only managed 59 points against the Chicago Sky, and that led to the blowout victory. The defense gave up 82 in the game. The Sparks are averaging 81.5 points, while their defense is giving up 86.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 6th in the league, while their defense is ranked 10th in the league. Nneka Ogwumike has been the top player for the Sparks this season, averaging 17.8 points while shooting 58.2 percent from the field.

The Sparks offense has been a major issue coming into this game, and that is going to be the difference as Seattle wins this game in blowout fashion. The Spark’s strength has been the defense, and the Sparks are going to have issues getting to even 70 points. Back the Storm against the spread.
