The WNBA three-point contest takes place Friday at the United Center. Here’s a three-point contest Prediction. This article will include a three-point contest Pick.

Janelle Salaun +450 – Salaun is the comfortbel favorite to win Sixth Player of the Year, and she’s eighth in the W with an average of 2.5 threes made per game. She’s shooting 38 percent from three for her career. There are six games this season that Salaun has made at least 4 threes.

Marina Mabrey +375 – Mabrey leads the league this season with an average of 3.3 threes made per game. She has two games this season where she’s made 9 threes and seven games where she’s made at least 4 threes. The volume shooter and first-time All-Star for this Toronto squad, Mabrey has free range to let the shots fly.

Azzi Fudd +230 – Fudd has 10 games this season of at least 3 made threes, and she holds the WNBA rookie record for five made threes in a single quarter. Fudd is shooting 38.7 percent from three on the season and twice won the three-point contest at Steph Curry’s camp. Fudd is a natural scorer with a beautiful stroke and is the favorite to win this event.

Bridget Carleton +475 – Carleton is tied for fourth with an average of 2.6 threes made per game and is shooting 37.7 percent from three in July. Carleton’s three-point shooting percentage has improved in each of the last three months. Carleton has two seasons in her career where she’s shot 40-plus percent from deep.

Rhyne Howard +500 – Howard is second in the league with an average of 3.2 threes made per game and is shooting 35.4 percent from deep overall. Howard has 12 games this season where she’s made at least 4 threes, and she has 11 games where she’s taken double-digit three-ball attempts. Howard has the green light in Atlanta’s offense.

Natisha Hiedeman +700 – Hiedeman is making two threes per game this season on 34.3 percent. Hiedeman has made 342 threes for her career on 37 percent shooting. Of course, Hiedeman entered the league as a shooter, as she’s the first Marquette player to make 300 threes for a career. She is the go-to scorer for that Seattle team.

Three Point Contest Prediction

Fudd should be favored given her pure stroke and the fact she’s won a three-point competition twice back in the day. Her shot is clean and deserves respect. However, I’ve never been a fan of backing the favorite in these sorts of events. The juice is never worth the squeeze. I’m looking at Mabrey and a chance to make nearly four times my money. She’s shooting 39 percent from three on high volume, and she’s a hard-wired competitor who is probably taking this more seriously than others. Also, Mabrey played a couple of seasons for the Sky so there should be some fan interest as well. I’ll grab Mabrey at a sweeter price.

Also, Natisha at +700 is worth a sprinkle. For some reason, oddsmakers are making her an afterthought, and she can knock them down. Don’t sleep if looking for a shot in the dark.
