The battle for New York continues today when the Brooklyn Nets pay a visit to the New York Knicks.
The Nets lost six of their last seven games heading into the new year, but have since kicked off 2014 with six wins in seven outings including an impressive 127-110 over the Hawks on Thursday. Joe Johnson made six of eight three pointers on his way to 29 points, while Andray Blatche added 20 points and 14 rebounds as the Nets shot a blistering 58 percent from the field to blow out the Hawks in the O2 Arena in London. Coach Jason Kidd will be delighted with how his team shared the ball as the Nets made 38 assists on 53 field goals while connecting on 16 of 27 three point attempts. With the win, Brooklyn improve to 16-22 overall and 6-13 on the road.

Meanwhile, the Knicks have fallen from a five-game win streak with three double digit losses on the trot after getting trounced by the Clippers by 109-95 on Friday. Carmelo Anthony had a season-worst four of 23 shooting from the field, but made 16 of 16 free throws to finish with a team-high 26 points and 20 rebounds, while JR Smith added 24 points off the bench, but the Knicks couldn't find their offense in the second half, getting outscored by 59-45. With the loss, New York drop to 15-25 overall and 7-13 at home where they had won three straight before Friday.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a losing record and 6-1 ATS in their last seven games overall, while the Knicks are 5-15 ATS in their last 20 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall.
These two teams last met on Dec.5 and it was the Knicks who won by 113-83 at Brooklyn, but given the form these two teams have been in recently, I'm expecting the Nets to exact some sweet revenge and take down the Knicks in their own building today.
