The Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder will play their third of four scheduled meetings on Tuesday. The Thunder have won the previous two meetings this season.
The Rockets have extended their winning streaks to five games and will begin a tough three-game road trip. During this winning streak, they’re averaging 110 points on 48.9 percent shooting and are allowing 100.2 points on 44.7 percent shooting. Just when you thought their offense couldn’t get any hotter, it has over the last week. James Harden is coming off a 41-point performance against Portland in which he knocked down seven threes. On the road, the Rockets average 105.8 points and allow 104.5 points. They are 33-28-2 ATS overall and 16-14 ATS on the road.

The Thunder continue to be in a funk ever since Russell Westbrook has returned, as they’ve lost five of their last eight games. That includes an embarrassing 114-110 Sunday loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. The defense is what’s really slipped over their last five games, as they’re allowing 108 points and teams to shoot 44.4 percent from downtown. The three ball is what helped the Lakers, as they drilled 13 of 31 attempts. At home, the Thunder score 107.2 points and give up 98.6 points. They are 34-28-1 ATS overall and 17-14-1 ATS at home.
The Rockets are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 5-1 ATS in their last six following an ATS loss. The Thunder are 2-6-1 ATS in their last nine games overall and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games against the Southwest.
And while the Thunder were on a tear a month ago, they simply haven’t been the same team since Westbrook returned. The defense has taken a major step back and they’re losing to teams that they should be beating into the ground.
The Rockets have been on a roll and have the type of offense that could pull out a SU victory. I’ll take the points against a struggling OKC squad.
