The Battle for LA continues as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Los Angeles Lakers today.
The Lakers have lost five of their last six games and will be hoping to avoid a fourth straight loss after losing to the Mavericks by 107-95 on Friday. Jodie Meeks led the way with 25 points while Nick Young and Jordan Hill added 14 points apiece, but in typical fashion, the Lakers had a strong first half but got outscored in the second half by 55-41. Yes, the Lakers didn't have anyone to match up with Dirk Nowitzki who had a big night of 27 points, but they should've done a better job of containing Brandan Wright who averages just 9.0 points this season, but made all 10 of his shots to finish with a season-high 23 points. Steve Nash came off the bench and played a productive 19 minutes but is reported to sit out for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, the Clippers are also coming off a loss to the Mavericks, losing to them by 113-107 on Thursday despite significant contributions from just about everyone. Blake Griffin had a big triple-double while Darren Collison and DeAndre Jordan added 22 and 21 points respectively, but it still wasn't enough as the Mavs were able to shoot 50 percent from the field and 14 of 29 from the three-point line. With the loss, the Clippers missed a key opportunity to go to within one game of the Thunder who currently occupy the second spot in the Western standings.
In ATS trends, the Lakers are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games following a double-digit loss at home and 1-4 ATS in their last five road games, while the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall but just 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games.
The last time these two teams met, it was the Clippers who tore up the Lakers in a laugher and it could be more of the same tonight, so I'll be leaning towards them again as long as the spread isn't too hefty.
OK, the spread looks pretty big here, but I'm expecting the Clippers to win this one by more than 20 points so I'll lay the points anyway.
