The Sam Houston State Bearkats and the NC Central Eagles meet in college basketball action from the Don Haskins Center on Wednesday night.

The Sam Houston State Bearkats come into this game on the heels of an 87-61 loss to Bradley last time out. Savion Flagg leads the Bearkats in scoring and rebounding with 19.4 PPG and 8.3 RPG while Demarkus Langley has 12.5 PPG as the only other Bearkat to score in double figures so far this season. Jaden Ray also has a team-high 3.9 APG as well this season. As a team, Sam Houston State is averaging 72.8 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field, 33.5% from three and 53.9% from the foul line while allowing 67.8 PPG on 42.7% shooting from the field and 35.9% from three this season.

The NC Central Eagles will look to rebound from a 70-61 loss to UTEP last time out. Randy Miller Jr. leads NC Central in scoring with 13.3 PPG as the lone double-digit scorer for the Eagles so far this season while Dontavius King has 9.4 PPG with a team-high 5.6 RPG to lead the Eagles on the glass. Kris Monroe has 9.2 PPG with 5.2 RPG and Justin Wright has 8.8 PPG with 3.4 RPG while Eric Boone has 8.5 PPG, 3.8 RPG and a team-high 4.4 APG to lead the Eagles in the assist department this season. As a team, NC Central is averaging 74.2 PPG on 43.8% shooting from the field, 32% from three and 64.9% from the foul line while allowing 69.1 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field and 30.3% from three this season.

I get the case to be made either way here as neither team’s really been anything special to write home about. However, both teams are playing fairly evenly from a statistic standpoint up to this point in the season and I just think this may end up being too many. Not a game I’m rushing to bet but I’d side with NC Central and the points if forced to pick.
