The Detroit Pistons travel to the FTX Arena to take on the Miami Heat on Tuesday night.

The Detroit Pistons have cooled off recently with three losses on the trot and they will be hoping to bounce back after coming up just short to the Clippers in a 106-102 loss on Sunday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 23 points, nine rebounds and 10 assists, Jerami Grant added 21 points while Marvin Bagley chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Pistons shot 45 percent from the field and 12 of 29 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrific start to take a 14-point lead into halftime, but they scored just 19 points in the third quarter to let the Clippers back into the game, before allowing 36 points in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have been in great shape as they’ve won eight of their past 11 games overall, but they will be looking for a better showing in this one after falling to the Timberwolves in a 113-104 loss on Saturday. Tyler Herro drained six 3-pointers to lead the team with 30 points off the bench, Bam Adebayo and Max Strus each scored 19 points while Kyle Lowry chipped in with 14 points, seven rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Heat shot just 39 percent from the field and 15 of 45 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 42 points in the second quarter to lead by as many as 17 points, before going ice-cold in the second half where they scored just 37 points. Duncan Robinson scored just three points on one of six shooting, while Gabe Vincent scored just two points on one of eight shooting.

Looking at the betting trends, the Pistons are 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team with a winning record, 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against a team above .600 and 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Heat are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games against a team with a losing record, 6-0 ATS in their last six games against a team below .400 and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games overall.

Head to head, the over is 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall and the Pistons are 4-1-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall.

The Pistons are going to be shorthanded once again as Frank Jackson and Hamidou Diallo have both been ruled out, while the Heat are still without Caleb Martin. The Pistons were playing some of their best basketball of the season before suffering three tough losses and they’ve played the Heat well in three close encounters so far, so while I like the Heat to get the win at home, I think the Pistons can hang around long enough for the cover in the end.
