Villanova vs Boston College 12/10/22 Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Villanova Wildcats and the Boston College Eagles meet Saturday in college basketball action from Prudential Center. Villanova is currently 4-5 overall and coming off a win over Penn. Villanova went a tough 2-5 in their first six games, losing to Temple, Michigan State, Iowa, Portland and Oregon (and wins over La Salle and Delaware State). The Wildcats have since recorded victories versus Oklahoma and Penn. 

In the Penn matchup, the Wildcats scored 36 points in the first half and another 34 after the break for a 70-59 victory. Cam Whitmore topped the team on 21 points, and both Eric Dixon and Caleb Daniels notched 12 points apiece. 

Over on the Boston College side, they were 5-2 after seven games. The wins were against Cornell, Detroit, George Mason, Wyoming and Rhode Island. The Eagles have lost to Nebraska, Duke and New Hampshire in the three games since. 

In the New Hampshire game back on Tuesday, the Eagles posted a 35-35 tie by halftime and kept the pace from there. Boston College ended up losing 74-71 in overtime. Jaeden Zackery led the way on 14 points with six boards. 

PICK: I’m going to try Villanova in this one. The Wildcats are looking better over their last couple of games, and overall they’ve been scoring fairly well lately. Villanova has hit 70 or more points in five of their last six games, but they’re just 2-4 in that stretch after some tough matchups. As for Boston College, they didn’t shoot very well in the New Hampshire loss (38.5 percent from the field; 13.6 percent from 3-point range). The Eagles have also been below 60 points in four of their last six games. This should be an interesting matchup but I like Villanova better on the cover.
