Fordham vs Rhode Island Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/25/23

Rhode Island Rams 

Rhode Island managed a shaky 6-13 record over their first 19 games of the year. The Rams are on a 2-6 stretch since then, and they’ve fallen to Saint Joseph’s, Saint Louis, George Mason, VCU, UMass, and George Washington in the last six. 

In the George Washington matchup on Wednesday, Rhode Island scored 31 points in the first half, 40 in the second and nine in overtime during an 89-80 loss. Ishmael Leggett led the team in the defeat with 30 points and seven rebounds. 

Fordham Rams

Over on the Fordham side, they hit a pretty solid 16-4 stretch over their first 20 outings. The Rams are 6-2 in their last eight with victories over George Washington, Saint Louis, UMass, Davidson and Loyola IL in that time. 

Matched up against Loyola in the Wednesday game, Fordham was down 36-35 at the start of the second. The Rams managed a 36-33 run from there and won 71-69. Darius Quisenberry led the team with 26 points and five assists.

I’m going to stick with Fordham. The Rams had a bit of trouble versus a struggling Loyola team in their last matchup, but to their credit Fordham pulled out the victory to avoid consecutive defeats. Fordham has scored 71 or more points in four of their last five outings and should post a pretty decent total here as well. Fordham took an 82-79 road loss back on January 4 the last time these teams met up, and I think they’ll get some revenge with a cover in this rematch.
