Stefanos Tsitsipas will meet Diego Schwartzman in the Third Round at the 2023 French Open. The match will be played on Friday June 2nd, 2023. 

The fifth seeded Greek superstar Stefanos Tsitsipas has been steadily improving here at the 2023 French Open and will be backing himself to go deep in this tournament. After struggling in his opening win over Jiri Vesely, he produced a dominant straight-sets win over Roberto Carballes Baena, stamping his authority on the match. He has been serving excellently, winning over 80% of his service points so far, something that should take him over the line here against Diego Schwartzman. 

Diego Schwartzman has been having a miserable season, so even he may be surprised to find himself in the Third Round. His experience is highly valuable though, and he has looked solid so far, struggling in his opener against Zapata Miralles before dominating Borges in the Second Round. Unfortunately for Schwartzman, he has been serving quite poorly so far, something that he will have to correct quickly if he is to have any chance against Stefanos Tsitsipas. 

This would have been a blockbuster a few seasons ago, but it should be a cakewalk for Stefanos Tsitsipas due to Schwartzman’s decline. The Argentine has been a shell of himself in recent seasons, and simply isn’t on that level anymore. Tsitsipas has been playing some great tennis, and I expect him to control this match with his serve, winning with straight sets here at the 2023 French Open.
