Adrian Mannarino will meet Corentin Moutet in the Quarter-Finals of the 2023 Mallorca Open. The match will be played on Thursday June 29th, 2023. 

Adrian Mannarino is ranked 43rd on the ATP Tour and is the fourth seed here at the 2023 Mallorca Open. The unorthodox Frenchman is at home on the grass courts, and has had some great results on the surface. However, as comfortable as he is, he is also inconsistent and that showed in his 3-6, 7-6, 6-3 win over the unfancied Guido Pella. The Frenchman won less than 50% of his second service points and was broken five times, something that cannot be repeated again. Manarino lacks any real weapons, but takes the ball very early and hits an extremely flat ball. Given his experience on this grass he is the heavy favorite here against Corentin Moutet but as always, his inconsistency makes him hard to fully trust. 

Corentin Moutet is unseeded here at the Mallorca Open and is ranked 80th in the world. He is the big underdog here against his countryman Adrian Mannarino, especially due to his lack of results on this surface. After a strong opening round win over Christopher O’Connell, he defeated Roberto Carballes Baena 6-4, 7-6, serving extremely well. He was not broken in the match and won over 80% of his service points. If he is to cause the upset here over Mannarino, it will come down to him having yet another strong serving day. 

On paper, and based on grass court results, this looks once sided in favor of Adrian Mannarino. However, he has shown that it is very difficult to trust him. It is for that reason that I am hesitant to bet the straight sets market, but he really should win this one in two sets. I am very confident that he will win this match due to his superior pedigree on the surface, and Corentin Moutet doesn’t really have anything to hurt him. It you’re feeling lucky, take the 2-0 sets market but have no worries when it comes to Mannarino winning and advancing here at the 2023 Mallorca Open.
