This week, the PGA Tour travels to North Carolina for the 2023 Wyndham Championship.

Since the beginning of April, Hideki Matsuyama has played ten tournaments on the PGA Tour. In those ten events just noted, Matsuyama has accumulated six top 23 finishes, including a 13th place result at the 2023 Open Championship two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Wyndham Championship field, in the last 50 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Hideki Matsuyama ranks second in strokes gained approach, fourth in strokes gained ball striking, first in bogey avoidance, and third in GIR (greens in regulation).

In my opinion, Hideki Matsuyama is clearly the best golfer in this week’s field. Having stated that, I am backing Matsuyama to win this event at odds of +1800.

JT Poston has accumulated three top six finishes in his last four tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including an impressive second place result at last week’s 2023 3M Open.

I also like the fact that JT Poston has posted quaility results at Sedgefield Country Club in the past. More specifically, JT Poston won the 2018 Wyndham Championship.
