The Jacksonville Dolphins and the South Carolina State Bulldogs meet Monday in college basketball action from SHM Memorial Center. Jacksonville lost to UCF in their last game, which dropped the Dolphins to 6-3 overall. As for South Carolina State, they’re riding a seven-game losing streak after falling to Bethune-Cookman over the weekend. Let’s get into our Jacksonville vs. South Carolina State prediction. Jacksonville Dolphins 

The Dolphins managed to go a sketchy 2-2 out of the gate this year, falling to Xavier and Pittsburgh in that time. Over the next four games, Jacksonville recorded a series of wins versus Robert Morris, Fairleigh Dickinson, Campbell and Georgia Southern. In the win over the Eagles, the Dolphins shot a nice 51.7 percent from the field. 

Jacksonville took another loss to UCF in their most recent outing, and this one wasn’t close. After scoring just 18 points in the first half, the Dolphins posted a 46-34 deficit from there in a 94-52 blowout. Robert McCray was the only double-digit scorer on the team with 12 points. 

South Carolina State Bulldogs

Over on the South Carolina State side, they’ve certainly had some issues in the win column this year. The Bulldogs went 2-1 over their first three games with victories versus Voorhees and North Florida. After that came losses to Samford, Tulsa, Missouri, Missouri State, firman and Charleston Southern. 

The Bulldogs continued their losing streak on Saturday versus Bethune-Cookman. In that one SC State was down by seven points going into the second half and didn’t end up getting closer in an 80-71 result. Wilson Dubinsky was tops on the team with 11 points and three assists. 

ANDREW’S FREE JACKSONVILLE VS SOUTH CAROLINA STATE PREDICTION 

I’ll probably just stick with Jacksonville. The Dolphins need a good bounce-back outing after their flaccid loss to a talented UCF team, though. In that one Jacksonville shot just 30.3 percent from the floor and got out-rebounded 52-40. It was the lowest points total of the year for the Dolphins, who had put up 74 or more in three of the previous four outings. 

As for SC State, they’ve given up 82 or more points in six of seven games during this current losing streak. Jacksonville should have plenty of scoring opportunities on Monday and I like them to cover.
