The Washington Wizards have been in terrible shape as they’ve lost eight of their last nine games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting routed by the Kings in a 143-131 road loss on Monday. Jordan Poole drained eight 3-pointers to lead the team with 28 points on 10 of 18 shooting, Kyle Kuzma added 27 points with eight rebounds while Tyus Jones chipped in with 16 points and nine assists. As a team, the Wizards shot 51 percent from the field and 18 of 38 from the 3-point line, but they let themselves down on the defensive end again after leaking 39 points in the second quarter and 46 points in the third quarter to trail by as many as 26 points before going on a late run to keep the final scores respectable.

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers have been doing it tough this season, but they will be feeling much better after arresting a seven-game slide with a 109-104 win over the Suns on Tuesday. Anfernee Simons led the team with 23 points and seven assists, Jerami Grant added 22 points while Deandre Ayton chipped in with 16 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 44 percent from the field and 14 of 28 from the 3-point line as they struggled to find their offense and managed just 20 points in the first quarter to trail by 16 points, before they responded with a dominant 38-20 third quarter to set up the much-needed upset win at home. The Blazers are 13th in the West with a 7-19 record, the same as the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Wizards are still shorthanded with Johnny Davis and Landry Shamet still out, while the Trail Blazers are missing Shaedon Sharpe with a groin injury. The Wizards have been one of the coldest teams in the league lately as they’ve lost eight of their last nine, while the Trail Blazers were riding an ugly seven-game losing streak before they snapped out of it with an impressive upset win over the Suns on Tuesday.  You really couldn’t back either team with any confidence of a return these days, but the Wizards are 2-14 on the road this season, so I’ll happily go with the home team Trail Blazers at the short line.
