2023 Travelers Championship
2023-06-22 07:00:00 EDT

This week, the PGA Tour presents golf bettors with the 2023 Travelers Championship.

Before we discuss my favorite golf bets for the Travelers Championship lets take a look at the golf course the field will play and a few additional key facts that I felt were relevant to those placing wagers on this week’s PGA Tour event.

The 2023 Travelers Championship will be played at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. This golf course is a par 70 that measures approximately 6,852 yards. This course is a short tree lined track that will require accuracy off the tee. TPC River Highlands will present this week’s field with only two par five holes and very few water hazards. In 2016, a PGA Tour renovation of this golf course directed the removal of over 50 bunkers.

Key Facts

The Travelers Championship made it’s debut on the PGA Tour in 1984.

The average cumulative four round score of the three previous winners of the Travelers Championship was 17 under par (2022 Xander Schauffele -19: 2021 Harris English -13: 2020 Dustin Johnson -19).

Now let’s shift our focus to my favorite golf bets for the 2023 Travelers Championship.

Here are two golfers to consider placing on your card to finish in the top ten.

Russell Henley +320

Russell Henley arrives at this week’s event in rather good form. Henley has accumulated three consecutive top 16 finishes on the PGA Tour, including a 14th place result at last week’s 2023 U.S. Open.

It should also be noted that Russell Henley has played well at TPC River Highlands in the past. More specifically, Henley finished 19th at the 2022 Travelers Championship.

Tommy Fleetwood +275

Tommy Fleetwood has accumulated two consecutive top five finishes on the PGA Tour, including an impressive  second place result at the 2023 RBC Canadian Open two weeks ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed 2023 Travelers Championship field, in the last eight round played on the PGA Tour, Tommy Fleetwood ranks ninth in driving accuracy, third in strokes gained ball striking, fourth in strokes gained tee to green, and tenth in strokes gained putting.

Tommy Fleetwood also finished 13th at the 2019 Travelers Championship.

Here is a golfer to consider placing on your card to finish in the top 20.

Adam Scott +300

The talented Australian has accumulated three top nine finishes in his last five tournaments played on the PGA Tour, including a fifth place result at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship last month.
