The Oakland A’s and the Chicago White Sox meet Friday in MLB action from Guaranteed Rate Field. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Chicago White Sox vs Oakland Athletics Prediction.
Starting Pitching Matchup
The Oakland A’s will start Brady Basso here and Basso is 0-0 with a 1.93 ERA and 9 strikeouts this season. This will be Basso’s first career start against the White Sox. The Chicago White Sox will start Garrett Crochet here and Crochet is 6-11 with a 3.83 ERA and 191 strikeouts this season. This will be Crochet’s first career start against the A’s.
Oakland A’s Recap
The Oakland A’s come into this one looking to bounce back after failing to complete the sweep of the Astros thanks to a 6-3 loss in Thursday’s series finale. Despite Thursday’s loss, the A’s still won the series against Houston, bouncing back from a series loss to the Tigers earlier in the week.

Brent Rooker leads the A’s with 145 hits and 102 RBIs along with 36 home runs this season while Lawrence Butler has 21 home runs, 54 RBIs, and 23 doubles. JJ Bleday has a team-high 40 doubles, 4 triples, 128 hits and 56 RBIs. Rooker also has 156 K’s at the dish this season, while Zack Gelof has the unfortunate title of leading strikeout bat with 168 strikeouts this season. Shea Langeliers has also chipped in 25 home runs and 69 RBIs.

Chicago White Sox Recap
The Chicago White Sox will be out to salvage wins wherever they can after being swept by the Guardians earlier in the week after a 6-4 loss to Cleveland on Wednesday. It was just another brick in the wall for the White Sox, who have had series losses against the Red Sox and Orioles so far in September.
White Sox Trying To Avoid Worst Record In MLB History
Gavin Sheets has a .239 batting average and a .311 OBP along with 24 doubles and 41 RBIs while Andrew Vaughn has 17 homers and 63 RBIs and Andrew Benintendi has 16 home runs and 53 RBIs with Vaughn logging 29 doubles as well as a team-high 125 hits.

Chicago White Sox vs Oakland Athletics Prediction
I’m on the A’s here. Basso looked good in his debut and the A’s are just playing better than the White Sox, plain and simple. If you gave me this kind of plus money with Garrett Crochet earlier in the year, I’d have been on it like white on rice. But now, Crochet’s starts are getting shorter, whether it’s by choice or not, and that leaves a lot of work to be done by a horrendous White Sox bullpen. I’m also not sure the White Sox have the chops offensively to back Crochet up to begin with. Give me the A’s here.
