The Houston Astros and the Cleveland Guardians meet Sunday in MLB action from Progressive Field. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs Houston Astros prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Guardians vs Astros pick.

Houston Astros Betting Preview

In their last series the Astros played the Seattle Mariners. Houston won Tuesday 4-3 but lost the other pair in that set. After a 5-2 win over Cleveland in their opener, on Saturday Houston eked out a 4-3 victory.

In the starter role Sunday the Astros are going with Ryan Gusto. This will be the 25-year-old Gusto’s MLB debut.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Guardians’ side, they took on the Cincinnati Reds this past week. Cleveland won both those games 6-1 and 5-2. On Saturday the Guardians posted nine team hits in the defeat.

As starting pitcher Sunday the Guardians will go with Nick Sandlin. So far Sandlin is 8-0 with a 3.75 ERA in 68 games (one start).

Cleveland Guardians vs Houston Astros Prediction

I’m leaning Astros. Houston got 6.0 innings and three earned runs from Justin Verlander in the start Saturday. The Astros scored all four of their runs in the first two innings and were able to hang on for the victory. We’ll have a pretty interesting starter matchup Sunday and there will likely be a lot of changes on the mound. Houston has scored four or more runs in three of the last four games however, so there should be enough offense to power out a win here if all goes well.
