Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants
May 1, 2025 9:45 pm EDT
Major League Baseball presents a matchup between the Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants. Let’s take a look at this MLB game from a FanDuel perspective.
Before we dive into the Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants game let’s review the rules for the FanDuel single game showdown contest.
FanDuel Single Game Contest Rules
Here are the FanDuel single game contest rules. You have $60,000 to utilize on five players from either team. However, one of those players will be designated as your team MVP. The MVP accumulates 1.5x times the standard FanDuel fantasy points value. Additionally, the MVP is 1.5 times the standard cost of the flex position.
The remaining five players in your lineup will be flex plays. The five flex positions will receive the standard FanDuel points value. Having stated that, it is highly important for you to identify the correct player for your MVP position if you hope to win a large field GPP (guaranteed prize pool) FanDuel single game contest.
If you have additional questions regarding the rules for the single game contest, I highly recommend that you check out the FanDuel website for more details.
*It should be noted that FanDuel does not utilize the pitcher position in single game MLB contests. Having stated that, only batters are available for single game MLB lineups on the FanDuel platform.
Here are my FanDuel picks for this evening’s Colorado Rockies vs. San Francisco Giants matchup.
FanDuel MLB Player Selections
MVP-Heliot Ramos, Outfielder, San Francisco Giants $9,200
On Thursday night, Major League Baseball presents the opening game of a four game National League series featuring Colorado Rockies and the San Francisco Giants.
How are these two teams playing entering tonight’s MLB game? The San Francisco Giants arrive at the first game of this four game National league series with the Colorado Rockies playing rather good baseball. The San Francisco Giants have won four of the team’s last seven games played in the 2024 MLB regular season, including a 2-0 shutout win over the Texas Rangers last week.
In direct contrast to the San Francisco Giants, the Colorado Rockies have been playing below average baseball recently. More specifically, the Rockies have lost eight of the team’s last nine games played this season, including an 8-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves three days ago.
Now that we have determined how both of these Major League Baseball teams are currently playing let’s shift our focus to this evening’s contest. San Francisco outfielder Heliot Ramos has certainly been playing outstanding baseball for the San Francisco Giants this season. Let’s examine Ramos’s recent game data to better shed light on my previous statement.
San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos arrives at tonight’s National League game on the heels of a four-game hitting streak. In that four-game span just mentioned, Ramos compiled six hits (one home run), one RBI (runs batted in), two walks and five runs scored in 14 plate appearances. Clearly, Heliot Ramos is swinging the bat at a high-level entering tonight’s MLB game.
More recently, in the San Francisco Giants 3-2 win over the Texas Rangers four days ago, San Francisco outfielder Heliot Ramos played exceptionally well. In the Giants victory over the Rangers, Ramos amassed two hits, one RBI, two runs scored and one stolen base. It should also be mentioned that in the Giants defeat of the Texas Rangers, Ramos tallied 21.4 FanDuel points.
In my view, Heliot Ramos is the most likely player to accumulate the most FanDuel points in this MLB game. With that said, I am rolling with San Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos at the MVP position for this one game MLB DFS slate.
Flex plays I like in this game (FanDuel price noted): Jung Hoo Lee, Outfielder (San Francisco Giants) $13,600: Jordan Beck, Outfielder (Colorado Rockies) $12,400: David Villar, Third Baseman (San Francisco Giants) $5,600.
