The Los Angeles Clippers and the Memphis Grizzlies do battle at the FedExForum on Friday night.
Los Angeles Clippers Betting Preview
The Los Angeles Clippers have been in dreadful form as they’ve lost 14 of their last 17 games overall, but they will be feeling much better after they snapped an ugly five-game losing streak with a 115-92 road win over the Hawks on Wednesday. James Harden led the team with 27 points and nine assists on 11 of 24 shooting, Kawhi Leonard added 21 points with six rebounds and five assists, Ivica Zubac tallied 14 points with 17 rebounds and five assists, while Kobe Sanders chipped in with 17 points off the bench. As a team, the Clippers shot 49 percent from the field and 10 of 32 from the 3-point line but this win was more about their defense as they were always in control after holding the Hawks to just 41 points in the first half.
Memphis Grizzlies Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Memphis Grizzlies have been in pretty good form as they’ve won five of their last seven games overall, but they will be eager to bounce back here after having their three-game win streak halted by the Spurs in a 126-119 road defeat on Tuesday. Cam Spencer led the team with 21 points and six assists off the bench, Jaylen Wells added 20 points on six of nine shooting while Zach Edey chipped in with 19 points and 15 rebounds. As a team, the Grizzlies shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 26 from the 3-point line as they looked in command after taking a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter, only to go cold and score just 11 points in the final 7:15 to allow the Spurs to slip away in the end.
Los Angeles v Memphis Free Prediction
The Clippers are still missing Bradley Beal, Derrick Jones Jr and Bogdan Bogdanovic, while the Grizzlies have ruled out Ja Morant, Ty Jerome, Brandon Clarke and Javon Small. The Clippers have been mired in a slump but still open as slight favorites on the road in this one which isn’t too surprising when you look about the starting lineups of both teams. The Clippers have been seriously underperforming with the talent they have available, but they were able to clear plenty of cobwebs with a dominant win over the Hawks in their last outing. In contrast, the Grizzlies have been hit hard by injuries but had actually won five out of six games before they lost a close one to the Spurs in their last outing. The Clippers will turn things around sooner or later, but we have yet to see any consistency from them, so I prefer a play on the Grizzlies as home underdogs in this spot.
