In this article we will formulate a Colorado State vs Wyoming prediction for this College Football game on Saturday, September 5th at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins, Colorado. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 1 matchup.

Colorado State Rams Betting Preview

The Colorado State Rams went 2-10 (1-7) last year and they finished last in the Mountain West standings. Colorado State started the year with a 38-21 loss to Washington, but bounced back with a 21-17 win over Northern Colorado. The Rams only FBS win last year came against Fresno State by a score of 49-21 in early October. Colorado State really struggled to score, as they scored 21 or fewer in 10 of their 12 games. The Rams scored 18.5 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 30.8 points against per game on defense.

This year, Colorado State has not announced a starting quarterback yet, so it will be either Farrar or Hejny. The Rams look solid on the offensive line and at receiver, but they need to pick the right QB or it won’t work. On defense, Colorado State was terrible last year, but they have some decent returning production and the portal really helped at key positions.

Wyoming Cowboys Betting Preview

The Wyoming Cowboys were 4-8 (2-6) last season and they finished tied for ninth in the Mountain West standings. Wyoming started the season with a 10-0 win over Akron and defeated Northern Iowa 31-7 in week two. The Cowboys were 4-4 through eight games, but they lost each of their last four contests. Wyoming fell apart offensively in those four losses, as they scored seven points or fewer in each of them. The Cowboys scored 16.0 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 20.5 points against per game on defense.

This season, Wyoming is starting Tyler Hughes at quarterback, who transferred from William & Mary. The Cowboys will have very good running backs and the offensive line is decent, but the receivers don’t have much depth. On defense, Wyoming was very good in 2025 and they should be just as good this season. The Cowboys should be solid on the defensive line and the secondary, while the linebackers should get better as the season rolls on.

Colorado State vs Wyoming Prediction

These two teams used to be Mountain West rivals, but they will meet in a non-conference game here, as Colorado State moved to the PAC-12. Both teams are looking for bounce back seasons, but I am worried about both offenses. I don’t love the QB options for either side and Wyoming was one of the worst offenses last year. I don’t really know what to expect from either team in this game, but I don’t expect much scoring at all. Take the under in this contest.
