In this article we will formulate a Notre Dame vs Wisconsin prediction for this College Football game on Sunday, September 6th at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this Week 1 matchup.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish Betting Preview

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish went 10-2 last year and they were the best Independent team, as they were 1.5 games better than UConn. Notre Dame started the season with a 27-24 loss to Miami (FL), which was followed up with a 41-40 loss to Texas A&M. The Fighting Irish were 0-2 to start the season, but they won 10 straight games to finish the season. Notre Dame scored 34+ points in six of their last seven games, but they opted out of a bowl game after not making the CFP. ND scored 42.0 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 17.6 points against per game on defense.

This year, Notre Dame will have CJ Carr back at quarterback and he should be ready for a big season. The receivers have a lot of talent and the offensive line should be elite, but the running backs could be a problem. On defense, Notre Dame returns plenty of production from last season, which isn’t something most teams can say. The defense should be very good once again in 2026.

Wisconsin Badgers Betting Preview

The Wisconsin Badgers were 4-8 (2-7) last season and they finished tied for 14th in the Big Ten standings. Wisconsin opened the season with a 17-0 win over Miami (OH) and then followed that up with a 42-10 win over MTSU. The Badgers were 2-0, but they lost each of the next six games, before alternating wins and losses in their last four games. Wisconsin had a ton of issues scoring points, as they scored 13 or fewer in eight of their last nine games. The Badgers scored 12.8 points per game in 2025, while they allowed 21.6 points against per game on defense.

This season, Wisconsin will have Colton Joseph at quarterback, who transferred in from Old Dominion. The Badgers do have some talent at receiver and running back, but the offensive line could be an issue. On defense, Wisconsin should be very good with their front seven, but the secondary could be a weakness.

Notre Dame vs Wisconsin Prediction

Notre Dame finished the 2025 season with a 10-2 record, but they missed the College Football Playoff and didn’t go to a bowl game, so they will be looking forward to putting that behind them. The Fighting Irish are one of the top teams in the nation this year and they are elite on both sides of the ball. Wisconsin was awful on offense last year, but I actually think they got a lot better on that side of the ball. The Badgers may be competitive this year and I could see them scoring 17-20 points here. Take the over.
