The Davidson Wildcats and the VCU Rams meet Saturday in college basketball action from Siegel Center.

Coming into this Atlantic 10 Tournament matchup, Davidson sits at 13-7 on the year. The Wildcats took out George Mason on Friday. As for VCU, they’re currently 18-6 this year. The Rams took care of Dayton in their Friday matchup. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

Davidson has done a good job at staying consistent this year, only losing consecutive games twice so far. The Wildcats fell in a pair of games to St. Bonaventure on February 21 and 24, but since have beaten VCU and George Mason.

In the Friday tournament win 99-67 over George Mason, Davidson’s Kellan Grady led the team on 32 points with six rebounds and three assists. Lee Hyun-jung added 20 points with four rebounds, and Luka Brajkovic had 17 points with five boards.

Over on the VCU side, they’ve been the model of consistency as well, and haven’t lost consecutive outings all season long. The Rams took a 65-57 loss to Davidson last weekend, but bounced back with a 73-68 tournament win over Dayton on Friday.

In the Friday win over Dayton, VCU’s Nah’Shon Hyland led the team on 30 points with 10 rebounds and three assists. Both Hason Ward and Adrian Baldwin notched 10 points apiece, combining for three assists and five boards.

VCU is 1-4 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 2-8 ATS in their last 10 after a straight-up win. The Rams are 4-12 ATS in the last 16 as an underdog and the under is 7-2 in the last nine Saturday games.

Meanwhile, Davidson is 4-1 ATS in their last five Saturday games and 4-1 ATS in the last five road games. The Wildcats are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 as a road underdog and the under is 4-1 in their last five Saturday games.

PICK: I’m going to take a stab on VCU here. The last time these teams met up, Davidson got a 65-57 win on February 27. It wasn’t a particularly good game for the Rams; they’re normally better scorers. In any case, this should be a great matchup, and I expect it to be close most of the way. I think VCU has enough gas offensively to keep the pace and cover.
