The Pacific Tigers and the Pepperdine Waves meet in college basketball action from Firestone Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

The Pacific Tigers will look to build on their four-game winning streak after a 58-49 win over Loyola Marymount last time out. Daniss Jenkins leads the Tigers in scoring with 15 PPG while Jeremiah Bailey is 2nd in scoring and tops in rebounding with 12.7 PPG and 8.2 RPG and Broc Finstuen has 11.8 PPG with 6.8 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for Pacific coming into this game. Pierre Crockrell II also has a team-high 3.3 APG this season. As a team, Pacific is averaging 71.2 PPG on 42% shooting from the field, 31.3% from 3-point range and 68.3% from the foul line while allowing opposing teams to average 61.8 PPG on 39.3% shooting from the field and 27.9% from 3-point range this season.

The Pepperdine Waves will look to build on an 80-65 win over Portland last time out. Kessler Edwards leads the Waves in scoring and rebounding with 17.3 PPG and 6 RPG while Colbey Ross has 16.7 PPG with a team-high 7.5 APG to make up the duo of double-digit scorers for Pepperdine coming into this game against Pacific. Kene Chukwuka has 9.8 PPG with 5.8 RPG as well for the Waves this year. As a team, Pepperdine is averaging 77.4 PPG on 46.7% shooting from the field, 29.8% from 3-point range and 80.3% from the foul line while giving up 74.7 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field and 28% from 3-point range this season.

Pacific is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the over is 7-1 in their last 8 games against a team with a losing record. Pepperdine is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a win and 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 games against a team with a losing record while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get Pepperdine being favored because they’re at home, but as nice as a win over Portland and a cover against Gonzaga is, you’re still going to have a hard time convincing me that this is the same Pepperdine team from earlier in the year. The Waves haven’t shown me a ton to warrant them being favored simply because they’re at home with a lack of fans in the stands as it is. Pacific doesn’t have the strongest 5-1, but their lone loss was to Nevada which is nothing to sneeze at and Pacific’s also beat up on their two conference opponents so far this season. I’ll take Pacific and the points in a game I think the Tigers could win outright.
