The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles and the Lipscomb Bisons meet Friday in college basketball action from Allen Arena.
Florida Gulf Coast comes into this one at 5-4 so far. The Eagles have lost consecutive games to Bellarmine in their last pair. As for the Bisons, they’re 9-7 this season. Lipscomb had a three-game win streak snapped by North Florida in their last game. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Florida Gulf Coast began their year with a win over Florida A&M, then fell to South Florida before taking out Florida National and Miami. Since then it’s been a loss to FIU, wins over Weber International and Georgia Southern, then two straight losses to Bellarmine.
In Saturday’s 80-63 loss to the Knights, Florida Gulf Coast’s Jalen Warren led the team on 13 points with two rebounds and two assists. Both Cyris Largie and Caleb Catto contributed 12 points for the Eagles, combining for six rebounds in the game as well.
Over on the Lipscomb side, it’s been an up-and down season. After starting out with a win and a four-game losing streak, the Bisons went on a nice 5-1 run over their next six games. Since then it’s been a loss to Liberty, two wins over Bellarmine and a split pair with North Florida.
In Saturday’s 72-67 loss to the Ospreys, Lipscomb’s Romeo Ferguson posted 18 points with six rebounds and five assists. Ahsan Asadulla doubled up with 16 points, 12 rebounds and one assist, and KJ Johnson posted 14 points with three boards in 34 minutes on the floor.
Lipscomb is 4-1 ATS in their last five Friday games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight home games. The over is 27-11-2 in the Bisons’ last 40 home games and 4-0 in their last four after an ATS loss.
Meanwhile, the Eagles are 6-2 ATS in their last eight road games and 11-24 ATS in their last 35 versus a team with a winning straight-up record. The under is 5-1-2 in the Eagles’ last eight road games and the over is 4-0 in their last four overall.
PICK: I’m going to stick with Lipscomb here. The Eagles haven’t looked good in their last two games, getting outscored by Bellarmine 154-123 during that pair. Lipscomb blew a seven-point halftime lead against North Florida in their last outing, but otherwise has been scoring pretty well lately. I like this one to be competitive initially, with the Bisons pulling away late.
