The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns meet in college basketball action from the Cajundome on Friday night.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves will look to build off of a 93-72 win over ULM last time out. Caleb Fields leads the Red Wolves in scoring with 13.4 PPG to go along with 3.9 RPG and 3.1 APG while Norchand Omier is 2nd in scoring and tops in rebounding, averaging 12.8 PPG with 11.8 RPG for the double-double per game and Marquis Eaton has 10.8 PPG with a team-high 3.8 APG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for A-State this season. As a team, Arkansas State is averaging 75 PPG on 46.1% shooting from the field, 37.6% from 3-point range and 67.5% from the foul line while giving up 68.6 PPG on 40.7% shooting from the field and 30.6% from 3-point range this season.

The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns will look to build off of a 68-51 road win over UT-Arlington in their last matchup. Cedric Russell leads the Cajuns in scoring with 16.9 PPG while Mylik Wilson is 2nd with 14.4 PPG and 2.8 APG this season. Theo Akwuba has 10.8 PPG and a team-high 10.5 RPG while Dou Gueye has 10.1 PPG with 8.7 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for the Cajuns coming into this game. Brayan Au also has a team-high 3.5 APG for Louisiana this season. As a team, Louisiana is averaging 74.5 PPG on 43.3% shooting from the field, 31.3% from 3-point range and 68.5% from the foul line while giving up 72.2 PPG on 41.9% shooting from the field and 31.2% from 3-point range this season.

Arkansas State is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a win. The points are tempting considering A-State’s performance over ULM and how much success the road team’s had in recent years in this matchup. However, the Red Wolves haven’t done much of anything on the road this season and while there haven’t been a ton of beatdowns, the level of competition wasn’t what they face here. Louisiana matches up well with Arkansas State, they just do everything better and I think we see the Cajuns put their foot down at home and win this by double digits.
