The UC Davis Aggies and the UC San Diego Tritons meet Friday in college basketball action from RIMAC.

UC Davis enters this matchup at 2-2 so far. The Aggies have won consecutive games over Idaho State and William Jessup. As for the Tritons, they’re 2-3 overall this year. UC San Diego has lost three straight to UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

UC Davis has only been able to play four games so far this year, and they’ve had mixed results to say the least. The Aggies began with a pair of losses, falling 101-93 to Nicholls State and 66-63 to Santa Clara. Since then it’s been two wins however, 70-61 over Idaho State and 95-62 over William Jessup.

In the win over William Jessup on December 4, UC Davis’ Kennedy Koehler, Ezra Manjon and Damion Squire each notched 16 points, combining for four assists and 11 rebounds as well. Elijah Pepper added 14 points with two assists and three rebounds for the Aggies as well.

Over on the Tritons’ side, their year began with a pair of victories but it hasn’t gone well since. UC San Diego took out St. Katherine in their first two games 77-51 and 75-39. Since then it’s been three straight losses, however. The Tritons have fallen to UC Irvine and UC Santa Barbara (twice) in that time.

In the loss to the Gauchos 84-53 on Saturday, UC San Diego’s Toni Rocak led the team as the only Triton in double-figures with 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists. Rocak shot 6-of-11 from the floor and hit four free thitems in 20 minutes off the bench.

UC Davis is 6-20-1 ATS in their last 27 Friday games and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four as a favorite. The Aggies are 18-7-2 ATS in their last 27 overall and 13-2-1 ATS in their last 16 road games.

The under is 4-1 in the Aggies’ last five overall and 12-4 in their last 16 as a road favorite. The under is 4-1 in UC Davis’ last five road games and the over is 4-1 in their last five Friday games.

PICK: I’m sticking with UC Davis, but probably staying away. The Aggies have only played four times this year, and haven’t been on the court in any meaningful capacity since way back on December 4. The good news is that the Aggies have hit 70 points or more in each of their last pair. UC San Diego hasn’t been able to get close in their last three games, and I don’t think they’ll have the gas to overcome the gap here.
