The St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the Duquesne Dukes meet Saturday in college basketball action from PPG Paints Arena.

St. Bonaventure comes into this one at 7-1 so far. The Bonnies have won five straight games, most recently taking out VCU on Wednesday. As for the Dukes, they’re 4-5 this season. Duquesne is 1-2 in their last three games and coming off a win over Rhode Island. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.

St. Bonaventure opened their year with wins over Akron and Hofstra before a loss to Rhode Island in game three. Since then it’s been five straight victories for the Bonnies. They’ve taken out Richmond, Saint Joseph’s, Fordham, Duquesne and VCU during that stretch.

In the 70-54 win over VCU on Wednesday, St. Bonaventure’s Dominick Welch put up 19 points with five rebounds to lead the team. Jaren English added 18 points with nine boards and three assists, and Kyle Lofton put up 12 points with three assists and two rebounds.

Over on the Duquesne side, their year began at 2-3 with wins over UNC Greensboro and George Washington alongside losses to Little Rock, George Washington and Davidson. Since then it’s been losses to Dayton and St. Bonaventure between wins over Fordham and Rhode Island.

In the 71-69 win Wednesday over the Rams, Duquesne’s Chad Baker put up 19 points with five assists and two rebounds. Michael Hughes doubled up on 15 points with 10 boards, and Marcus Weathers had 12 points with four boards and one assist in 28 minutes of action.

The Dukes are 1-5 ATS in their last six games overall and 2-6 ATS in their last eight after an ATS win. Duquesne is 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games and the over is 5-2 in their last seven after an ATS win.

Meanwhile, the Bonnies are 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-0 ATS in their last four after an ATS win. The over is 7-2 in the Bonnies’ last nine Saturday games and the under is 6-0 in their last six overall.

PICK: I’m going to stick with St. Bonaventure here. The last time these teams met up, neither one played all that well. Duquesne had the edge in rebounds 39-37 and assists 16-8, but also notched 16 turnovers and scored just 48 points. The Bonnies essentially won the game with their 20-of-27 mark from the line. In any case, this will probably be another sloppy, lower-scoring game on both sides. I like the Bonnies to power out a cover.

Andrew's Free Pick: St. Bonaventure Bonnies -4
